DNS is the service that translates 'human' addresses like into 'computer' IP addresses like 74. 125. 67. 100. DNS errors occur when the server cannot find the translation.

Domain Name Service is responsible for matching a name to an IP address (74. 125. 53. 104). An error means can not connect to the DNS server.

I had NO idea either when it happened to me. It is when your Play Station won't connect to the internet.
