You will need a cart. You will need a food handling permit in most states. You will need a concession license to sell to the public. You will need a business license. You may need a taxpayer identification number for the business or a sales tax license.

Most concession stands already have a proprieter. You have to bid on alot of these jobs. You would have to find somewhere for a stand that isn't already owned by someone. Then you can worry about the price of start up, which in many cases is under $2000. Just remember that dont buy perishible items too far ahead.

The stand itself is the cheap part. The heating or cooking or frying equipment is the expensive part. Anywhere from $1000 to $12000.

You can have a great little start up for the cost of your stand, and that varies depending on your product, and venue rents. Remember that you will need some kind of licensing and permit to sell. Choose your product, consult your town's statutes, I believe you could easily start up for anywhere between 2500 a month, up.

A concession stand generally requires: the physical stand, a location and likely a permit, proper licensing from your state's health board, inventory, and usually a credit line to finance employment. Purchasing a permit is generally the most expensive aspect, as there are a limited number, and a lucrative market for ones in ideal locations.
