A composite number is any number that is not a prime number. If any number divides evenly into the number (besides 1 and the number itself), it is a composite number. Example: 24 is composite since 2,3,4,6,8,12 all go evenly into it. 23 is not a composite (it is prime)

A composite number is an integer than has factors other than itself and 1. It is the opposite of a prime number.
