More than likely it is a blood blister. They normally are formed when rubbing occurs, such as wearing uncomfortable shoes. They can be easily treated by yourself or a doctor. To keep them from returning, you must isolate what is causing them to form, such as a certain pair of shoes.

Often a blister on the bottom of the foot that appears to turn to a bruise is actually a blood blister, which should be drained or treated by a podiatrist.

This may be nothing greater than a regular blister that turns into a bruise simply due to pressure on the foot from walking.
