The rules for parole violations vary from state to state, and there is a different system for federal crimes. That being said, most parole violations will result in the offender returning to prison to serve out all or part of their sentence. This will ultimately be up to either a judge or the parole board, however.

This will typically depend on the jurisdiction or state. Each state will have its own rules for the penalties which could range from monetary sanctions (fines) to revocation of parole (jail time). Ordinarily, the State will have to prove that you 'violated' parole, but the burden of proof is VERY low and easy to meet.
