In the National Football League, all post-season games, like regular season games, will go into overtime if tied. In a regular season game, if no one has scored after 1 overtime period, the game will end in a tie. However, in all playoff and championship games, play will continue in 15-minute periods until a winner is determined.

The Superbowl can't end in a tie. If the Superbowl is tied at the end of regulation, the game will go into overtime.

Everybody is wrong on this stupid site, so I'll give you the real answer. The first team to score a touchdown wins, or a team can win it with a field goal with the last possession. The loser of the coin toss gets the first possession. 15 minutes per period.

The Super Bowl cannot obviously end in a tie, so they play a 15 minute overtime. There is a coin toss, and the winner gets to choose to receive the football, or choose which end of the field they want. Once somebody scores (field goal, touchdown, safety, etc. ), they win, and the game is over.

The Superbowl, as with all NFL playoff games, cannot end in a tie. If the game is tied at the end of regulation (4 quarters of play) the game would go into overtime. The two teams would play 15 minute overtime periods until a team scored. The first team to score would win the game.
