Is that too much?

You will most likely end up either hurting yourself or your long term exercise goals. By performing the same lifting routine everyday, you are not giving your body proper time to heal and build new muscle. Ideally, you should only perform the same same weightlifting routine twice a week unless you are on a specialized training program.

Muscles need time to rest and recover. Lifting weights causes small tears in your muscles and those tears need time to rebuild. Not resting doesn't allow for muscle rebuilding.

ouch. nothing gained. the size and strength are determined by the muscle tissue breakdown and repair. Do incline, decline and bench presses. Change the order and reps frequently but only go to once a week. work all major body parts once a week only. you will be surprised

Be patient with your goals. Benching 5 days a week is total overkill. Getting the results you want takes time. Working out is a lifestyle, not a for the moment kind of thing.

Yeah benchpressing, or any other excersise for that matter, 5 times a week is too much. By doing this you dont allow enough time for your muscles to heal in between workouts. Day 1: Chest, Triceps Day 2: Back, Biceps, Shoulders Day 3: Rest Day 4: Chest, Triceps Day 5: Back, Biceps, Shoulders Day 6: Rest Day 7: Rest

Your chest won't have time to rest and heal, and thus, you will be doing more harm than actual good.

Five days per week on any one muscle group is too much. Muscles need at least 24, and preferably 48 hours between workouts to heal, which is where muscle growth happens. I suggest working chest twice per week, as part of a circuit training routine for the front side of the body.

You should work out one part of your body a day because you have to let each part rest before working on them again.
