The best food for cats is one that has a high content of meat and protein and not much fillers, such as corn or bone meal. Ideally, cats would be fed raw food, such as frozen and defrosted chicken parts, because this is how they would eat in the wild. However, some cats will not accept this.

Make sure that there is no "chicken by-products" in the food, or any other by-products. By-products are like beaks, toes, etc. It is so bad for your cat; it's like humans eating French fries every day, rather than a salad. There are other things to watch out for, too.

Cats are by nature carnivores so you need a cat food that states it has real meat; chicken, beef, pork, etc. This means no by-products. Cats don't need grains and only a small amount of vegitables. A raw diet made from humans at home is by far the healthier choice.

Any food that is sold in your local pet store should be good for your cats. Make sure that they are given wet food as well as dry food. Cats are natural carnivores and need sufficient protein in their diets.

The best foods are those high-quality brands that are available directly through a vet or a specialty pet store. These brands are more expensive than grocery store brands, but your cat will eat less and will have a healthier coat and digestive system.
