Parrots can be fed bird food from an animal store. Bird food usually contains seeds of flowers or dried fruits, like raisins. You can also buy trail mix for your bird. Many birds have their own personal tastes, so you should try different kinds and see what your bird likes.

All parrots need a basic diet of fruits, vegetables, and nuts. Never feed a bird dairy, avocado, or potatoes. Experiment with berries and melons. Every bird has a favorite.

Parrots have simple diets. They eat fresh fruits and vegetables, cooked legumes, most seeds, certain foods containing fat, nuts. But not all parrots eat the same, therefor the best way to be certain about what to give a parrot to eat is to find out where it originates from and learn about the food that habitat provides.

Parrots are seed-eating birds and most of them are herbivorous and fruit eater.Because of their strong curved beaks, they can crack hard shells of seeds and nuts. Some species of parrots are omnivorous and consume insects during breeding season.Avoid food that are high in salt, sugar, fat and fresh milk.Because parrots are not mammals and do not drink milk.
