A lot of junk yards will actually come and pick your vehicle up for free. Most places use the parts of cars to resell as used parts when someone needs a particular part fixed but do not want to pay for a brand new part. Old cars can also be recycled for their metal. Some places even pay you.

To the best of my knowledge there is no actual fee in disposing of a vehicle, in fact the opposite. Many smaller local companies will pay you to come pick up your vehicle and scrap it. Also if you are more motivated you can sell it by the pound for scrap. Most salvage yards will give you the necessary paperwork.

This is dependent upon your location. Some states charge a fee for each tire being disposed of in addition to a charge for the car being disposed. Sometimes a junk yard or car repair location will willing take the car off of your hands without any charge. Another option would be to donate the car to charity (free! )

I have never heard of a fee being charged for this. There are many not for profit agencies that take unwanted, not working cars and give you a tax write-off letter. They come and pick up the car and take it away. You either get a tax-write-off letter in the mail or they give you a receipt.
