Women of that period were wearing medium dresses, below the knees and usually with broad collars. The dresses showed the waistline, were very coloured and they wore them with heels.

Poodle skirts worn with twin sets, bobby socks and saddle shoes were all the rage. Finish the look with a high pony tail secured with a scarf and red lipstick.

For girls, poodle skirts are iconic '50s trend. Also, you might want your daughters to put up their hair in high pony tails. As an alternative, girls also wore jumpers, which were dresses on the bottom with a long, flair skirt and a connected top. Girls in the fifties wore flat shoes with ankle socks.

Poodle Skirts, pencil skirts, girdles, spike or stiletto heel's, ballet slippers, halter tops with high wasted shorts so no belly button is seen, nothing sloppy, shawls were worn alot, and gloves.
