What facts are dentist able to see from a bite-wing x-ray?

I need assistance with my Radiology homework that is related to dental x-rays.

They can judge the general health of the teeth based on the contrast and density of the image. They can see cavites and previous fillings and not natural artifacts.

They can see decay, bone levels surrounding the teeth, in some cases infection, open margins on crowns or fillings, resorption and numerous other things that I can't think of at the moment. Most dental offices take bitewings at least once a year and coupled with visual exams are highly effective for preventive care.
