To keep puffer fish you will need an aquarium of at least 15 gallons, a tank cover, a heater, an aquarium filter, and a water testing kit. If you intend to keep a saltwater puffer, the aquarium should be at least 30 gallons.

It depends, do you mean saltwater or freshwater? Puffers need a diet of frozen foods (not flake) and lots of space, so a 30 gallon or more aquarium (except for dwarves). Some puffers are brackish, these will need marine salt mix. A filter and decorations are also necessary for them.

You will need normal aquarium supplies such as, Aquarium, Filter, Heater, Glass Top/Light Hood, Thermometer and Hydrometer, Substrate, Marine Salt and Water Conditioner. Puffer fish are brackish which means half salt and half fresh water. They require marine salt!

A large tank is needed and the water type will depend on the species of puffer fish you have. Some need fresh water while others need salt water or a combination. They have huge appetites and will eat almost anything in the tank. Make sure they get enough greens in their feeding, and supplement it with bloodworms, shrimp, and krill.

Puffer fish need a large saltwater tank and are a high maintenance fish. Despite appearances puffer fish are very delicate and dont usually live long in captivity.

Puffer Fish live best in freshwater. it often nip at the fins of puffers and other species of fish. This nipping can be minimized by keeping puffers very well fed.
