The effects of diglcycerides have on mono is that both can cause unwanted effects that contain longchain fatty acids like stearic acid. The result is the increase in liver weight due to intake of too much fat. On the whole no harmful effects has been specifically associated with mono or diglycerides.

Diglyceride or a Diacyglycerol(DAG)is a glyceride consisting of two fatty acid chains covalently bonded to a glycerol molecule through ester linkages. Monoglyceride consists of a single fatty acid chain. Mono and diglycerides are common food additives used to blend together certain materials such as oil,ice creams etc which could not otherwise blend well.
