Typically, dogs which have "hair" instead of "fur" tend not to shed, and thus many breeds who fall under this classification are termed "hypoallergenic. " The Maltese, Bijon and Ladbradoodle are all examples of dogs which do not shed. By contrast, the German Shepherd sheds like no tomorrow, with prickly little hairs that get stuck everywhere, in furniture and rugs!

There is no such thing as a dog that doesn't shed. However, there are a lot of dogs that shed a minimal amount of hair. A lot of the smaller breed dogs don't shed as much as the bigger ones. Shih-Tzu's, Malteses, Poodles and Yorkies are among some of those breeds.
