Literally, it means "Go to the crows" or "Go to the ravens" and was a popular curse in ancient Greek. Ravens and crows were associated with death and carrion-eating, and particularly with feeding on battlefield dead. The phrase was used by the Greeks as the equivalent to "Go to hell! "
