In order to prove your faith, James asks us to use concrete examples, demonstrating our faith. He asks that we prove ourselves with charitable acts, which translates into volunteering, and being a better human to the world around us. He believed that faith in God and Jesus is directly proven by the works of humans.

James has several things to say about faith in his book. The most important thing that he says is that faith without works is dead. So after a person comes to know Christ, that faith is dead, useless, on a dead end path unless it is given the exercise of works. Works workout faith and make it alive.
