What does it mean if you have a "borderline ECG"?

Does it indicate a heart problem?

A borderline ECG is indicative of a possible heart rhythm defect. If some waveforms on the ECG are near to the maximum lengths which they should be, a doctor will sometimes refer to the study as "borderline," meaning it is almost at an unhealthy level. It doesn't necessarily mean there is a heart problem.

A borderline ECG may or may not indicate that you have a heart problem. A borderline ECG is not 100% normal, but is also not clearly displaying the presence of a disease. The best way to manage a borderline ECG might be to repeat the test and see if the results are the same or different.

I have had a borderline reading all my life. It will probably take further testing for you such as a stress test. Anyway, I had all that done and it was found that the abnormal is "normal" for me.

"Borderline" in medicine means the same thing as it does in everyday life - there is some value in your ECG that is approaching what is considered significantly different than normal. What exactly is borderline could be problematic for your heart or not. You need more details from your cardiologist.
