It means if the lein is approved you will eventually have your wages garnished. Before that happens try and settle or make payment arrangements.

The government can obtain back-taxes owed to the government by placing a lein on one's paycheck. This means that the money to pay the debt owed will be deducted from an individual's paycheck. It is a method of debt collection for delinquent debtors.

If a tax lien is filed, it usually goes against a mortgage or personal property for taxes that you owe.

It means you have failed to file taxes and have ignored the notices from the IRS to resolve it Now the time frame has expired and they have gone to the last resort and filed lien against you. Now you have no choice but to pay up. They may garnish your wages so get an attoryney to make arrangements.
