What does biology tell us about body lice?

Body lice are members of the genus "Pediculus. " They primarily inhabit in clothing and bedding and can infect other people when they come in contact with the infected person. They propagate by laying eggs on the skin or clothing of the infected person. Body lice feed on blood and typically cause severe itchness.
