A lipase inhibitor inhibits (deactivates) some enzymes in the gut that help break down the fats. This way they don't get absorbed.

Lipase is a enzyme released by the Pancrease to help your intestines digest food. A Lipase inhibitor would reduce the amount of lipase the Pancrease releases. If prescribed by a doctor and taken as directed, it should be safe. If you have concerns, talk to your doctor.
