A high lymphocyte count ususally means that you had an active infection when your blood was drawn. Normally it is no big deal and these and other cells of your immune system will fight off the infection. It is important to get checked again in a few months to make sure it is nothing more serious.

High white blood cell counts occur normally with the flu and chicken pox. However, it could also be something more serious such as leukemia, mononucleosis, hepatitis, etc. These diseases/infections trigger the immune system to respond; which causes elevation in lymphocyte levels.

Lymphocytosis is a problem associated with an increase in white blood cells. Too many white blood cells are an indication that your body is fighting off an infection of some sort.
