At a minimum, you will be required to display proof of your identity and evidence that you worked for a particular employer. Call first for specific documentation requirements.

To file for unemployment you need the name and address of most recent employer. You will need the date that you started working there, the date your employment ended and the reason for leaving your job. You need your social security number, and a photo ID. Also take extra papers like proof of residency just in case.

Most unemployment filing is done online. You will receive a letter if they need any information. If you have lost your job, they will mail you a form that your employer will need to fill out stating when your last day of work was and how much you are expected to make this month.

You would need your drivers license, your last pay check, proof that you were let go/fired from your previous job as opposed to having quit.
