What do you write in a sympathy card?

I can never find the right words.

Keep it short and simple. Tell the recipient you're sorry for their loss, and if you're close enough, let them know you're always there for them if they need you.

A standard is "My condolences. " Another option is "I am regretful to hear of your loss/illness/etc. " End by wishing or hoping that the situation, health, or happiness improves.

Start by writing down general thoughts about what you want to tell the recipient. These don't have to be organized, just get them down on paper. Then try to organize these thoughts into sentences. As long as the card comes from the heart, that's all that matters.
