Their isn't much you can really do for it, but it usually doesn't damage your lawn beyond some thinning. You can try using a cultivator that protects your grass from rust. The only other thing I can suggest is to get rid of the infected grass, then mow and water your lawn before the rust can reproduce. Hope this helps.

It is harmless, but unsightly. Your turf may be too low and have not enough irrigation. Conversely it may be overwatered with depleted nitrogen. It means your lawn needs TLC.

If you properly maintain your yard by fertilizing the grass correctly, then the rust will be greatly reduced. The rust will eventually disappear when winter comes.

About the only thing you can do about it is try a bit of fertilizer but make sure the sun has gone down when you fertilize.

Well it depends upon your lawns water management. If you have a really wet lawn or a really dry lawn it can lead to the grass rusting. Though if you keep your yard well drained and fertilized then you will be able to manage the grass rust.
