Frost can block the vent from the freezer to the refrigerator. If the vent is blocked it will restrict the air flow out into the freezer. This will cause a cold air build up in the freezer vent and to freeze over, causing a block in the vent. Always make sure there is adequate room for airflow in the freezer.
