Plumbers tape works best, if its cross threaded, trash it and buy a new one, it will be worth it knowing it has a good seal than its just in there. These problems often happen when you throw a bolt in and crank it down, try to be more careful next time.

You have to rethread the oxygen piece the oxygen sensor threads into. This is done by using a tap and die. If the oxygen sensor itself is cross threaded then you will have to buy a new oxygen sensor. This is a common problem because of how hot the metal gets.

Absolutely nothing at all. Everything I know about cars I learned from watching my father and brother working in the garage. And we were a chevy family. But my guess would be that an oxygen sensor thread pattern problem, is a big problem and a big repair job. Especially in a 95 Ford.

if the threads are damaged you can try and force the new sensor through the bad section and hope it works, or you can get a tap to fix them
