What do some people eat snakes?

Snakes are edible, just like many other animals. Just because it isn't done commonly in the US doesn't mean other countries don't eat them. Rattlesnakes are eaten sometimes in the west/southwest portions of the US. I have heard they taste somewhat similar to squirrel, but I can't verify that myself.

Some people eat parts of a snake because in their culture, this practice is probably widely accepted. It would be the same thing as to say "Why do Americans eat beef? " Others may look to us as strange, just as we would look to them as strange for eating another form of meat.
