What do snapping turtles eat?

They are carnivorous, eating primarily meat but occasionally bugs as well. As for specifics, any kind of meat they can swallow. They have been known to bite the legs off ducks, lay in wait for fish or frogs.

They generally will eat earth worms and leaves. Some people have given snapping turtles human food, which isn't necessarily bad for them, but I don't imagine it would be good for them either. I would stick to greens and food they would eat if they were still out in the wilderness.

They are omnivorous. Purchase floating turtle pellets. They like worms, meal worms, crayfish, crickets, and minnows. Red-leafed lettuce, collards, strawberries, sweet potato and butternut squash. Chopped grapes, dandelions, and grated carrot A balanced diet.
