A sandwich maker is an appliance used to grill pressed sandwiches (panini). It is similar to a waffle iron, and many sandwich makers have multiple attachments for more varied use.
Sandwich makers take a normal sandwich and turn it into a grilled sandwich or hot pocket. Fill bread with ham and cheese and place into the sandwich maker and it comes out hot, grilled and melty.
