A monarchy is a country with a king or queen; they may or may not have political power. Anarchy is a country with no government. It's often used as a synonym for chaos, but that is incorrect - lack of government does not necessarily imply lack of order. Government is often the cause of disorder.

A monarchy is a country that is run by an nobility that holds absolute power, such as a king or a sultan. Saudi Arabia is an example of such a country. An anarchy is a country with no government of any kind. No countries currently use this form of government.
