You should list the following duties for a receptionist's position: greeted visitors and directed them to the appropriate location, answered telephone inquiries and directed them to the appropriate person or department, received and processed mail, ensured desk was covered at all times by instituting a back up plan as well as any other miscellaneous activities you may have performed.

A curriculum vitae is a list of things that you have done and are unique to you. So I suggest that you write a thrilling paragraph about yourself, personality, unique skills qualities and other things you deem interesting. Since a curriculum vitae is just part of letting the people you will work for know a bit of who you are.

Use a lot of action verbs to describe the duties. A CV is most appropriate when applying for a job in medicine, law, science, teaching and/or the media. Otherwise, use a resume.
