What do I need to know about the maturity of savings bonds?

I have several savings bonds that will be maturing in the near future and am unaware of what I should do when this occurs.

Cash them out, then either re-invest the proceeds in more bonds or put it in a money market. But mature bonds do not collect interest, so don't leave it.

You will need to cash them in when they mature. Most savings bonds do not continue to increase in value as they age and have fixed maturity dates. When they mature, go to a bank and cash them in.
