Depending on the age of the tree, under 3 years should be protected from animals. A wire fence covering at least 24 inches should do. Next, moderate sun and water are best for your flowering plum. Too much will scortch the leaves, too little will result in small, hard plums.

The best way to take care of any of the flowering trees is to go to your local nursery and ask them.

Not all flowring plum trees make plums. Check your labels t make sure you hae a fruit tree rather tha a flowering tree. Flowering trees bloom profusely in the sprngas do fruit rees ut they are an entrely different species. One is decorative and the fruit bearing is not.
