All animals brought into the United States will be examined at the port of entry for any evidence of diseases which are communicable to humans. Each type of animal has different requirements for entry including quarantine for specified periods of time. Documentation must be shown to indicate the animal is current for vaccinations.

Dogs and cats do not require a certification of health before entering the United States. However, they maybe denied entry at customs or port of entry if they seem ill.

You need to have all of it's shot recordes and make sure that they are all up to date before crossing or trying to cross with your animal. You might also want to take it to your vet before planning on crossing and have them give you a clearance so that way everything has checked out.

I would contact a vet in the city you are moving to. Make sure to know what illnesses and pests are common in the area. Take all precautions suggested.

To bring your pet to the United States, you must have records of up-to-date vaccinations. Depending on the originating country and the animal, your pet may be subject to a period of quarantine as well. A veterinarian's statement of health may also be required.
