A blighted ovum is a fertilized egg that implants but does not develop. The woman is pregnant but for unknown reasons the baby did not develop.

A blighted ovum is when someone is pregnant, gets all the symptoms and has a confirmation with blood or scan, and then the embryo never develops as the pregnancy progresses. So all the pregnancy stuff is there in the body but the embryo is not developing as it shoud be.

Blighted ovums, often called missed pregnancies, occur when an egg is fertilized and attaches to the uterine wall, but no fetus develops. They are responsible for 50% of early miscarriages.

A blighted ovum is basically when an egg gets fertilized and implants in the uterus, but for whatever reason an embryo never starts to develop. It has all the signs of pregnancy, yet no actual baby growing in the womb.
