First thing is to make sure the paring light switch on the top of the steering column isn't on. Many people forget or don't know about this switch. If that is not the problem check your wiring for shorts and make sure the switch is working properly.

That was it! So simple, must have been flipped on in error when the car was cleaned. Thank you - now risk of draining the battery now!  add a comment

Check the parking light switch. The switch can be adjusted or replaced. Also check to see if there are any loose connections causing the lights to come on by themselves, like hitting a bump. You can also pull the fuse as a temporary fix until you are able to do more investigating.

You'll need to verify if your light switch is at fault by manipulation of the switch. for a temporary fix, remove the fuse associated with the parking light circuit.

Commonly called daytime running lights. Check the top of the steering column for the switch that turns the parking lights on or off.

I never hit the switch by accident. But at first I wondered what the heck that button was and what purpose it had. I had to read the manual to find that out.
