What do I do if my child steps on a nail?

I didn't notice any rust on the nail, and he's had a tetanus shot. Should I still go to the doctor?

If the child has already had a tetanus shot within a tenure of five years there is no need to repeat the vaccine. Keep wound clean by regular dressing of wound and applying antiseptic oiltment. If symptoms such as fever or swelling in the area rises with local rise of temperature then antibiotics will be needed to prevent secondary infection.

If the wound is deep or the bleeding doesn't stop, go to the doctor. If not, then make sure the wound is clean and then bandage it.
