If it is leaking out refrigerant then you will need to get a professional to check it out and try to locate the leak. If it is a slow leak you can leave it that way and just get it charged and it will cool sufficiently. Make sure to check the valves and the filter drier.

A very good question, but one that varies by your AC type, so it could be considered "broad". I would suggest that you either consult your local Hvac Reapir man, or if you've still got it consult the user manual that came with your particular unit, model. Best of Luck.

You will need to go outside and wrap a towel around the pipe. The pipe is freexing so you need to try and warm it up. Just like if you were to take a cold glass out side. It gets wet and will appear to be leaking.

Depends on the age of the unit. Flared or mechanical connection may be reworked and pipework brazing may be possible, but with the likelihood of further leaks occurring soon after.
