You need to keep cleaning it. It's best to clean it with mild soap, rubbing alcohol, or hydrogen peroxide. Another way to clean it is with warm salt water. Also make sure you don't touch it very frequently because your hands carry germs. Make sure your clothes to not pull or rub on it a lot.

You need to make sure you clean it very well, very often. Something that works great for me as a piercing cleaner is rubbing alcohol. It's cheap and it will kill the infection. Just keep using it a few times a day.

With any new piercing it is important to keep the piercing clean until it has fully healed. Use an antiseptic cream on it until it has healed. Also consider the fact that you may have an allergic reaction to the metal used in the belly ring, if so try a gold belly ring as it should cause a reaction.

Consulting a dermatologist might be necessary. Because of the amount of blood flow to that area the infection could spread. Meanwhile the piercing should be removed and an antibiotic applied.

If it is only swollen and a bit red around then it is not infected. But if is really infected then you must use medicine or disinfection cure. If it does not work then i think you should go to doctor and ask for antibiotic because it can turns really bad.
