The composition of their diet depends on seasonality and subspecies. Gorillas are able to survive on lots of different types of vegetation such as leaves, stems, roots, vines, herbs, trees and grasses. This has low nutritional value so they must eat a large quantity. Some gorillas eat fruit, invertebrates, snails, ants and slugs.
