An athletic injury or some sort of recent injury. If this has not happened, could be a mini-stroke. You should really see a doctor.

Numbness is called by nerve damage..You can get numbness in the thigh from a condition called Peripheral Neropathy. This can also cause swollen ankles. You need to see a doctor for a nerve test. There are over 100 ways to get PN.The biggest cause is Diabetes.I have this for the past 18 years and you need to see a doctor now.

Could be a pulled muscle leg muscle or quite possibly a pinched nerve. Also could be something serious, such as hypertension due to high blood pressure. If it does not subside on it's own, a doctor visit may be best to determine what is going on.

There could be several reasons why you are experiecing numbness in your thigh and ankle. One of the reasons, and the most important one is, that perhaps you have a pinched nerve. My advice to you would be to consult a physician and have tests done to diagnose you.
