If someone is taking a shower, using a hose, flushing the toilet, or simply using a tap in the kitchen these can all cause you to lose water pressure

Generally a drop/loss in water pressure at your home is caused by a water main break near your home.

This could be caused by a problem in your inside water pipes, a problem with the water line to your home or a problem with the water source itself. The inside pipes or the line to your home may be clogged with sediment or there may be pipe breakage. The source may have decreased flow or less power to push.

The problem is often a leak in the line leading from the street to your house. Report this to your utility to make sure that other people on your street aren't experiencing the same problem. It the whole block is having pressure problems, it's likely the line under the street.
