What could be wrong if internet explorer is not responding?

I have tried everything I can think of, rebooting my computer and router and yet IE is not working.

click the start option then choose run type command,then it will open a dos prompt. On that dos prompt type ping 4. 2. 2. 2,you get reply from 4. 2. 2. 2 type ping yahoo if you get reply. if you not get any reply then it must be DNS issue.

There could be several things wrong. The installation of IE could be corrupt. You may want to try reinstalling IE. Your computer may have faulty hardware such as a hard drive that may cause applications to stop working. You could also try another web browser to see if that works.

If you are using a wireless connection you should check on the signal strength, disconnect, and reconnect to it. Also, make sure your computer can discover networks.

This could be a number of problems. First and foremost you might not be connected to the internet. Check and make sure you connection is up and running. Failing that you may have a problem that requires reinstalling IE.

If you tried everything I would try to contact you internet provider to see if there are any outages in your area.
