What could be wrong if I feel pain in my right heel?

My heel is really flaring up.

You could have bruised your heel. You can actually bruise the bone, which can be quite painful. Wrap it with some Icy-Hot or Ben-Gay and try to stay off of it for a week or two.

Pain in your right heel could be associated with arthritis or a bone spur. Alternatively, you may have pulled a muscle or developed a stress fracture. See your doctor.

It might be a problem with your shoes. Wear more comfortable shoes, and try putting an insole in them to cushion your heel. If the pain is severe and doesn't go away, see a foot doctor (podiatrist), because it could be a bone spur or other problem that needs medical attention.

The heel is prone to whats known as bone spurs. Unfortuantely there is no treatment other than time which is effective
