One of the reasons could be Bell's palsy. The face gets numb suddenly, and usually it corrects itself within a week or so.

Many conditions can cause numbness to your face. Unfortunately, some of those things can be life threatening. Call your doctor and get in for a check up. You could have had a mini-stroke! My dad had one and his symptoms started as numbness.

Numbness is often caused by damage to a nerve. If some nerves serving one side of your face have been squeezed or crushed by an injury, you could lose feeling.
