What constitutes a break in landlord responsibility?

Assuming you signed a lease agreement, check there for details in your case. The landlord must furnish heat, 4 walls, a locking door, & closing windows. They must maintain the interior in reasonable shape (cabinets, walls, flooring, running water). You have a right to expect broken things to be fixed in a reasonable amount of time.

If the landlord refuses to respond to your list of complaints or replaces or fix anything in the apartment that is clearly not your fault.
