What considerations do Ca courts take into account for consideration about child support?

I am trying to protect myself and my children by making sure I get enough child support.

Largely they will look at the expenses stemming from the care of the child, such as food, clothing, etc. This monthly figure will be divided into what the court feels each party can pay. They will also look at places where your estimates of expense are too high.

Child support minimums are established by state statute based on the income of the parent and the number of children. California courts will also take into account childcare needs and the child's standard of living prior to the divorce.

They consider how many children there are, with more support awarded per number of children. Children with special needs or medical needs receive more money. The child support level has a minimum amount to provide sustenance, but may be higher depending on his income. Child support may be reduced if he pays for medical insurance or childcare.
