Litmus paper comes in two colors, red and blue. Both colors of litmus paper can be purchased or found in a chemistry laboratory. In an acidic solution like vinegar, the litmus paper will turn red. In an alkaline or basic solution like baking soda, the litmus paper will turn blue. The color change is reversible.

It depends on the type of litmus paper. The most common ones are blue and red, but there are others that have specific colors for different pHs.
