What causes fingernail fungus?

A fingernail fungus (onychomycosis) is caused by lack of hygiene, overexposure to damp environments, or sharing contaminated objects. Onychomycosis is contagious annd can be spread to other fingernails on your body.

No it is not contagious. It can be cause from a number of different things. The best thing you can do is go in and see your doctor they have things they can perscribe to you that will take care of it for you. Do not just start buying stuff and putting on it though.

I dont think it is contagious. Alot of things can cause it the only thing you really can do is go in and see the doctor for treatment.

Fingernail fungus is caused by bacteria. Failure to wash your hands can lead to this fungus. It can be contagious if you continue to let the fungus grown without attention.
